Harrison Hot Springs offered a special rate for a B&B layover last Sunday and Monday with all spa facilities included on April 29, 2018. So, the BC Pickleball dance club and friends attended playing Pickleball in Agassis at the community center with six courts . We were well received and the venue as well as the play was good. It was encouraging to see a newer venue so well run and with so much interest.
The dinner at the Copper Room was delightful with everyone attending and the dancing was special on the ballroom floor. It has been a few years since Rita and I had been here so a delightful return it was. The ladies were all ballroom dancers and the floor was full. How nice !
On the Monday we travelled to Chilliwack to a more structured venue, with disclaimer forms, raking and rating courts, nice bags for holding the balls and 4.5 and 5.0 players. We met lots of old friends and got caught up with how they managed to get the “ landing “ away from the tennis players ( 11 courts ) indoor. Everyone was very friendly and discussion ensued on how BC is trending in its development with two ( one registered provincial organization).
We had to leave early, but I did play three games and won 2 . Perhaps I should have told them they got beat by a near 80 year old . Plans were made for an upcoming tournament here and for meetups soon in South Surrey at the shared program with White Rock Curling Club starting on May 22nd clinics and May 28th start. They are taking registrations now.
